I am running Windows Vista 64. When I try to run the program I get an “program compatibility exception” error saying it is missing a Windows component, the movie never starts playing when I run “convert DVD” and Windows cannot find a solution. The normal fix for any program is to run as administrator to make it compatible with non 64-bit but I am not able to select “run as administrator” in the properties->Shortcut->Advanced tab. Please help, I am really looking forward to using this program!!!
When attempting to use the app, I get the following error on Windows 7 64 bit….. Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application will close immediately. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format…. I also tried to install the file using compatability mode and it stated that it skipped the version check….
Hope this info. helps….. I’m really looking forward to using it
Looks like it is missing something when it comes to the 64 bit windows. I will check it out and see if I can find what is missing. Thanks

I am able to preview the movie just fine, but as soon as I click on the button to start converting it crashes and comes up with an error saying “Could not find the converted file to copy to the DROID, something must have went wrong in the conversion procress. Sorry.” It never starts converting at all.
I am using xp 32 bit.
I’m not sure if that will work. I know for some season-type DVD’s than that should work, but movies i’m just not sure. Try it out and let me know!

Vista Ultimate SP2 64 bit, i7 cpu, 6Gb ram: Running the program as installed fails from shortcut (app starts, but after Convert DVD pressed, never gets beyond loading movie prompt with no video displayed and broken audio playback). Executing the DVDtoDROID.exe application directly with admin permissions seems to correct the problem (movie displayed, conversion appears to be running correctly).

The program istalled correctly but will only record like 15 minutes of the movie and then shuts down.
Make sure you watch the preview until the ACTUAL MOVIE is playing, then convert. This will ensure that the converter is converting the movie title, not just a random preview or something. If you did this, then try a different movie and see what results.
I have been getting a mencoder.exe error and then same thing as Chris says. I have fixed my registry errors tried 3 different computers, multiple movies and still no luck. I donated to this before i tried it cause i have heard such good things. Please help

I have to say, this program couldn’t be easier! Do my question must be because I am slow…
I am trying to convert an instructional DVD which has multiple chapters. I clicked convert and it it did: the 1st chapter. Do I have to do this for each chapter or not? I’m obviously missing something because the process can’t be easier! Great program! I have a PICNIC issue: “Problem in chair, not in computer” :>

Sometimes the instructional DVD’s don’t carry the user from chapter to chapter like a movie would. If there is a ‘Play All’ selection you could try that one, otherwise I’m afraid chapter by chapter is the only way to do those instructional types.
Is there a way to use stretch the dvd being ripped to fit the full screen size of the Droid X? the 2 DVDs I have tried both leave black bars on the side of the screen. The DVD seems to be playing in the 4:3 aspect ratio….rather than 16:9.
Are you sure the movie is 16:9? By default the program does not do any cropping to the movie to keep it’s normal aspect ratio. My droid X will be coming soon, I can then test to try to reproduce what you are seeing.
Thanks

to follow up on my previous question, I found a movie player app called “zilmy” in the marketplace that allows you to stretch the movie to fill the screen! it works great.

quick questions for you guys……..some of my recent rips are getting cut short. DVDtoDroid suddenyl ends the conversion process and says it is complete……well, they aren’t. I have had a few where the last 15-20 minutes of the dvd are cut off! Any ideas?

would it be very difficult to adjust the volume louder when converting? When I watch a movie at the gym, I have a difficult time hearing low conversations… I have tried good headsets…. Thanks for considering this if it is possible…

Jim,
The converter already forces the volume up as high as it can. I know what you mean, when I was first making the program, the volume was really low on the converted video. After forcing the converter up as high as it goes, it helped but some videos were still pretty quiet.

This worked great for my Droid 2, but will this work on a Droid Eris? It can’t find the phone when I plug it in.

I have the dvd to droid and it is awesome. I just recently purchased the Viewsonic gtablet and was wondering would this work on the 10″ screen?

First of all, this program is fantastico. When paired with QQPlayer, I get perfectly smooth video with audio perfectly synced. Love it. So, my questions are: 1) I ripped a Rush video and the volume is so loud and distorted that is sounds like the levels are “maxed out.” I ripped both the Dolby and PCM audio tracks with the same result. Any thoughts? 2) It would be great to be able to compress a movie that’s already ripped to a folder, when the disc isn’t present. I have folders of movies (VOB files, etc) that we have purchased and stored for when my 4 y/o destroys them, we can “print” another copy. I’d like to let him watch them on my phone, but I’d have to burn to disc, then rip with DVDtD.

I downloaded and ran the dvd to droid converter and tried using it on my Cars DVD (got three kids I need to entertain!) It went through the conversion,I plugged in my droid 2 and it copied to the dcmi folder, but when I go to play it on either the video player that’s on the phone or on Act 1 Video player, it just says there is an error and it can’t play. I doubled checked and it is saved as crz0nnw7.mp4, so not sure why it won’t play.

This has been a great program so far. I have converted a few movies with no problems, but I have run across a DVD that, the conversion gets about half way through, then it quits…says that it has converted, which the first half of the movie is, but not the 2nd half.

I have tried both DVD burners and I get a message, “DVD not found” on both. I’m running Windows XP Pro.
